Back in 1993 when Jurassic Park first debuted I don’t thin anyone could have guess just how big of a hit it was going to be. From the dinosaurs to the drama the original trilogy gave fans everything that they could have dreamed of and more. Fast forward 14 years after Jurassic Park III was released fans were given the chance to go back to the films with the introduction to Jurassic World in 2015. There are some fans out there that are worried that the sequel to Jurassic World won’t live up to its predecessors but it’s good thing that director Juan Antonio Bayona is ready and willing to shoot down those accusations.

A recent interview with Noticiasrcn, the director of Jurassic World 2 says that the film “will be darker and scarier than the previous film.”

“Obviously, when you have Chris Pratt it will also be very funny. But it will be darker: it is a second step in a trilogy, and the second step is always dark like in ‘The Empire Strikes back or ‘The Wrath of Khan.’”

Fans who saw the film will remember that Chris Pratt played Owen Grady. In the film Owen is the alpha of a Velociraptor pack that consisted of Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo.

Also in the interview Bayona continued to talk about the sequel saying that the sequel is going to take the story of Jurassic Park “where it has never been before.”

“It surprised me a lot. We are going to places where the saga has never been before, and at the same time, we are paying tribute to the franchise. We will take it a step further,” he said. “There are things that will happen that people are not expecting and will really shock them.”

Jurassic World 2 is scheduled for a release on June 22 2018
