So I like most Gilmore Girls fans over the weekend had a very specific plan in mind. I was going to go to work then come home and watch the new four episodes that Netflix released on Friday 25th.
I did just that and now I’m left wanting more. I feel like Lorelai with her coffee addiction.
I didn’t know what to expect from the four episodes but I went in with a pretty good guess that Logan was going to be a part of Rory’s life and I wasn’t wrong. I ship me some Rogan!
We’ve been teased and teased about the last four words for what seems like years and then when the Fall episode finally came around and I heard them I was left shocked because damn that was an ending alright. The last four words and then the screen went black.
I know that I can’t be the only one that is now left wanting more episodes because you can’t just leave it on a cliff hanger like that. I mean come on, my imagination is going into overdrive.
For those who don’t want to know what the final four words are look away NOW!
Rory and Lorelai were sitting in the gazebo in Stars Hollow just after Lorelai and Luke have got married. They’re talking and it seems all happy and cheery and then “Mom,” “Yeah?” “I’m pregnant.”
Now for everyone that’s watched the four episodes we all know who the father is. No it’s not Jess, (sorry guys) and it’s definitely not Dean. That just leaves one person…Logan. I’m happy and ecstatic but at the same time annoyed because for those who’ve seen the episodes we know that Logan and Rory are having an affair. He’s engaged. She was with Paul who everyone kept forgetting about, even Rory but in the end Paul broke up with her.
Hopefully the people at Netflix have come to their senses and have realised that we need more Gilmore Girls and have been in touch with Amy-Sherman Palladino to get more episodes commissioned because I think we all need it after that.
I could go on and on and on about what I loved about the episodes, the musical. I mean come on it’s Taylor’s dream! Sookie coming back and being able to smell just who has been using her kitchen. Michel being married and thinking that his husband has ordered a child. Emily swearing at a D.A.R meeting. Luke’s Diner. Kirk, because well he’s Kirk. My favourite moment though was when a group of four guys turned up. Four guys and then a girl. The Life and Death Parade. We got to see Finn, Robert and Colin again. We got to see Rory with the guys and it made me smile. Seeing the gang back together was like a full circle and I loved it.
So for now, Gilmore Girls is over again. But I have hope, as does everyone else that there will be more episodes coming.
