Goodbye 2016 you will not be missed. So let’s look ahead to a better year that is 2017 where we are all in for a treat on the small screen.

Upcoming TV Shows

Riverdale is setting up to be one of the biggest shows of 2017 and is inspired by the long running Archie Comics. The show will air on The CW, January 26th.

Beyond is another show that is setting up to be the next big hit from Freeform and is coming at a perfect time before the long running series Pretty Little Liars meets its end this summer. Beyond premieres January 2nd right after the Season 2 premiere of Shadowhunters. If you haven’t checked out the special preview of Episode 1 a few hours ago then your missing out.

 24 Legacy

24 is making a grand return to our televisions this February and we are ready. For most of us we are ready to be introduced to Eric Carter who can hopefully fulfil the Jack Bauer legacy in a new and exciting way. For others, people are unsure if this will be as successful as the original. We will have to wait and see. The premiere of 24 Legacy premieres right after the Super Bowl.

Prison Break

It seems as though Fox is going all out with their revivals and is bringing back Prison Break alongside 24 Legacy. The reboot will continue a few years after the end of the last seasons finale. Prison Break will return to our TVs this spring Tuesday’s at 9pm.

Big Little Lies

HBO has been hitting the mark with all of their shows as of late including Game of Thrones and Westworld and it looks like Big Little Lies is about to do the exact same thing as well especially thanks to an all star cast including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley. Big Little Lies Premieres February 19th on HBO.

Emerald City

One show that is picking up more steam as more information is revealed is Emerald City which is taking a spin on the original movie classic Wizard of Oz and it seems as though Dorothy has got her hands full with not just one witch but them all. This limited series event premieres January 6th on NBC.

There is one comedy were I for one will be keeping an eye out for this year and that show is Powerless it seems as though DC is going to take a shot at what Marvel has been doing with Agents of Shield and if DC keeps a track with their TV Shows this will hopefully come out on top as well. Powerless Premieres Febuary 2nd on NBC.

The Defenders

Later in the year Netflix will be giving us Marvel fans a treat worth waiting for with a team up of 4 heroes that have been taking the Marvel Universe by storm featuring. Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The Defenders will release Fall 2017.

Alongside ABC and Netflix it seems as though FX is now taking a shot at their own Marvel Series based of the X-Men franchise and will tell the story of Charles Xavier son David Haller. Legion premieres Febuary 8th 2017.

Iron Fist

Before Netflix releases The Defenders this year, they will introduce the 4th and final member of the team which is Iron Fist and the show is already looking as good and sticking on par with its other shows, Daredevil, Jessica Jone and Luke Cage. Iron Fist will arrive this Spring on Netflix.

As of late most networks have been taking a shot with reboots of classic films and turning them into TV Shows but not all of them have hit the mark to last and it seems NBC is taking 2 shots at it with a prequel series to the Taken trilogy along with Emerald City. The Taken series is set before the events of movies and will follow a young Bryan Mills. Taken premieres 27th Febuary on NBC.

Famous In Love

Famous In Love is setting up to be another big hit for Freeform along with Beyond premiering this year and it seems Bella Thorne is bringing her A Game to her new show since Shake It Up ended a few years ago. Famous In Love premieres April 18th straight after the Season 7B Premiere of Pretty Little Liars.
