Now, anyone that knows me knows how much I love Charmed. It was one of the first shows that I saw when I was younger that got me hooked. And the fact that Chris (Drew Fuller) was hot also helped.

When rumours first started flying around the other years about a revival with the original cast my ears perked up. I looked for anything and everything that would give me any information about it but alas, nothing came from it. Fast forward to 2017 and we’ve all heard the news of a reboot.

A Charmed reboot. Now when I first heard that I was intrigued. What is it going to be about? The sisters again? Maybe they’ll focus on Wyatt, Chris and Melinda and have their cousins in it too. That I would have been up for. Could you have imagined it, the newest line of Halliwell witches fighting demons?

The CW have plans to revive the series again for the younger audiences now that the show has been off air for over a decade (sob). Information has arisen that shows that what people thought about the show wont be happening. The CW recently confirmed that the Charmed revival is going to be a standalone first series. But we’re still going to get plenty of stories about the Power of Three.

The standalone show is set about four decades before the first Charmed show was. This prequel of sorts will follow three witches (who didn’t see that coming?) who are asked to fight against dark forces in a New England town. Set in the 1970s this is going to be a big contrast from the original series in a few ways.

Rather than the witches being sisters the new stars are said to be strangers who are forced together but these witches will likely be able to use the Power of Three much like what the Halliwell sisters could do.

The descriptions that we’ve been given of the new comers are below.

Tina: African American. Whip-smart, Tina is one dissertation (and one dissertation advisor) away from a PhD. She can be reserved, even standoffish, in uncomfortable situations, but she picks up on
everything and she’s definitely making quick, accurate judgments about you.

Paige: Caucasian Cheerful, curvy, wholesome and as all-American as the apple pie she can’t wait to serve to the husband she has yet to marry. Paige’s main goal in life is to marry a rich doctor and be a wife and mother.

Annie: Caucasian. Intense, smart, and quick to anger. She dresses neutrally, though she could give two s–ts if you like her outfit, so stop wondering what “neutral” means. But under that tough façade, well… there is a fragility. A person desperate to be loved, and love.

I’ll be tuning in to see what this new revival will be like but nothing will ever replace the original four, much like Rose McGowan (Paige) tweeted.
