The Uncharted Movie is something most PlayStation fans have wanted for quite some time now but there has always been bumps in the road when it comes to producers or script problems but finally Sony is ready to set the ground work on the beloved video game franchise.

On My Entertainemnt World (The casting source website), The movie will begin production in Columbia this spring.

Not only did the website release the news of the production window but also a small synopsis of the film itself.

“A descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray.”

If you are a fan of the franchise you will be familiar with the plot being quite similar to the first Uncharted games plot.

The movie has been written by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team and The Blacklist). The movie will be directed by Shawn Levy (Night At The Museum, Stranger Things).

With all this new information in mind it shouldn’t be long before we find out who will be taking on the role of Nathan Drake.
